In IUI, a prepared, concentrated sample of your partner’s (or donor’s) sperm is placed directly into the uterus using a thin catheter, at the time of ovulation. By delivering sperm closer to the fallopian tubes, IUI improves the chances of fertilisation without the complexity or cost of IVF.
IUI is generally not recommended if both fallopian tubes are blocked, if sperm count is severely low, or after multiple failed IUI cycles — in which case IVF or ICSI would be advised.

Either natural ovulation is tracked via ultrasound, or mild hormonal tablets/injections are used to stimulate 1–2 follicles. An hCG injection is given to trigger ovulation precisely.

Most specialists recommend 3–4 IUI cycles. If pregnancy has not occurred after this, Dr. Nayar will review your case and advise whether to continue IUI or move to IVF/ICSI.
IUI can work for mildly low sperm count. However, if the total motile sperm count (TMSC) after washing is below 5 million, ICSI is generally more effective. Dr. Nayar will advise you based on your semen analysis results.
